For Dr. Rojas, a 19-year dental veteran, there are many joys that come with being a pediatric dentist. She loves helping a fearful child relax and form a positive relationship with dentistry. She loves seeing the look of relief on a parent’s face when their special needs child listens to her. And, she especially loves seeing children who started at the practice very young that no longer fit in the treatment chair! She can’t wait to welcome you and your child into our practice, and you can learn a little more about her below.
Dr. Rojas actually knew that she wanted to become a dentist at a very young age. Her father and brother were doctors, and she believes that this is what “turned the light on” as far as considering a career in the healthcare field. She ultimately chose to become a pediatric dentist because she believed she could have the greatest positive impact on a patient’s life by treating them early so they could avoid many problems in the future.
Dr. Rojas obtained her Doctorate in Dental Science from Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia in 1992. She then came to the U.S. where she completed a residency in pediatric dentistry and received her master’s degree from the University of Alabama in 2003. Special needs patients have always been a big focus for her, so she has also received training at the Sparks Center for Developmental and Learning Disorders.
