We are excited and look forward to meeting you and your child at your initial visit!
We invite you to stay with your child during their initial visit and all other visits. Though we welcome you in the back office at all times (except during treatment under general anesthesia), we recommend you allow your child to independently accompany our staff during the dental experience. Children typically establish a closer rapport with Dr. Rojas and our staff when you remain in the waiting area. Our purpose in this is to gain your child’s confidence and help him/her overcome apprehension. However, if you choose, you are more than welcome to accompany your child throughout their appointment.
To sign up for our patient portal, kindly send a text message to 936-231-8705 requesting access. In your message, please include your date of birth, email, and zip code for verification purposes.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends the first visit to the pediatric dentist occur shortly after the first tooth comes in. Why so early? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the AAPD all recommend establishing a “Dental Home” for your child by one year of age. Children who have a “dental home” are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care as well as feel more comfortable in the dental office. Our team will utilize show, tell and do techniques which will allow your child to feel comfortable with the instruments being used and the procedures that will take place. They will be the "Dentists" for the day! Our dentists will gently examine your child's teeth, oral issues and bite and, if your child is comfortable, clean and polish their teeth and apply fluoride.
We always work to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen during the morning. This is when they are typically more refreshed, and we can work more slowly to maintain a child’s comfort level. For routine visits, school-age children can be scheduled throughout the day. Most appointments will be scheduled during the morning hours. Our afternoon appointments are for routine visits, some new patients, and older children requiring minor dental treatment.
